Introduction of the Course

Sharp injury is a common occupational hazard among health care workers in health care settings. Sharp injury is a work accident that most often occurs in health workers. The risk of transmission is very large if the needle or sharp instrument is contaminated with blood or body fluids containing pathogenic germs, like Hepatitis B, HIV and Hepatitis C.

Objectives:

At the end of the course the learner will be able to understand

  • Demonstrate methods of preventing self from sharp injury 
  • Employ measures to manage post sharp injury events
