Introduction of the course

This module describes the key concepts of Chest Physio Therapy (CPT). CPT includes postural drainage, chest percussion, vibration, coughing and deep-breathing exercises that are helpful to mobilize or loosen the secretions in the lungs and respiratory tract especially for patients with large amount of secretions or ineffective cough.

The objective of this module is to:

• Understand the basic concepts of CPT
• Help nurses gain necessary skill in performing CPT
• Demonstrate the procedure -postural drainage
