Introduction of the Course

Bio-medical waste is any waste that is generated during the diagnosis, treatment or immunization of human beings or animals or in research activities. Hospital waste management is a very challenging task in the prevention of infection as well as achieving medical and surgical asepsis. 

Objectives:

At the end of the course the learner will be able to understand

  • The importance of biomedical waste management
  • Demonstrate correct method of waste disposal
  • Explain the management of spill
  • Describe the treatment and proper disposal of biomedical waste management.
